ABOUT DR. HUDSON
Promise to Practice collaborates with schools to change the data narrative and accelerate student achievement. Achieving this goal requires educators to move beyond mere promises and vision statements toward intentional actions. Promise to Practice empowers educators and school leaders to transform school culture and foster collaborative learning environments where both students and educators can thrive.
Dr. Hudson is a passionate advocate for schools dedicated to improving student outcomes. With over two decades of experience as an educator in Denver, she has amassed a wealth of knowledge and practical strategies to help schools and organizations succeed. Her approach is grounded in research and a strong commitment to creating inclusive and supportive environments for everyone.
She envisions a world where every school is a place of possibility, led by motivated and determined leaders who nurture potential, restore dignity, and create a lasting impact.
Dr. Hudson has consistently delivered results, turning around schools. She has supported over 60 campuses (across K-12) as an instructional superintendent (principal supervisor) and guided diverse schools through crises and community revitalization. She also assisted with the relaunch of the Ombuds Office in the district to support all employees confidentially and informally when they experience conflict.
As an award-winning educational leader and speaker with experience in transforming schools, elevating equity, and guiding systemic change across schools. She started as a 14-year-old student sweeper and eventually became a classroom teacher, turnaround principal, instructional superintendent, district leader, and ombudsperson.
The impact she has made in schools, with students, and among educators is unprecedented. Her leadership helped transform a school community with 100% of students eligible for free or reduced lunch into a success, earning three consecutive State of Colorado Center of Excellence Awards while turning the school around in under three years. Her commitment to student excellence fulfilled her promise to the community by participating in the processes to redevelop the Sun Valley neighborhood.

As a proud TRIO Achiever and recipient of the Women of Good Deeds award, Dr. Hudson combines data-informed strategies with deep empathy and lived experience. Her doctoral research, A Master Gardener’s Narrative for School Change, grounds her work in the belief of honoring promises made to deliver results. Excellence has been the core of her journey as an educator, centering reflection, restoration, and resilience as crucial components for school change. Her goal is urgent. Improve the educational trajectory of all students, one student, one hope, one promise at a time. Her mission is simple: restore what is lost, amplify what is within, and lead with heart.
Dr. Hudson now speaks nationally and consults with districts and schools throughout the nation, equipping educators to turn their promises into powerful practices. We look forward to helping you change your data narrative. We are excited to partner with you to increase student achievement!
